global variable equations solidworks 2012 sp5

trying to create global variable equations but, in the equation box the "evaluates to" does not calculate.

I have SW 2015 but i don't think it does matter.

How do you added them?

Cheers for your help, the equations did not work either so, did a complete reload, now everything works, don't know what happened.
