Under the View Settings select RealView. If your video card is not a SolidWorks certified card this option will not be available.

"Sometimes the angle you view your model from will be outside of the reflective plane/range, move, rotate or joggle the model around to see if you can pick up the reflective plane and then just go from there".

The amount of reflection will depend on the material that you have applied. A material like chrome will be very reflective and a material like rubber will not be.

RealView is generally required to see reflections. Floor reflections can be seen by making sure the floor reflection box is selected in the scene options under the appearances tab.
