How do I make "Imported" to "part"?

The part is a mandibular bone. Feature recognition was used but still as "Imported" but not "Part". Thank you.

The file you have attached is a solidworks part. You can tell by the extension.

The first geometry feature of your solidworks part is geometry that was imported from some other type of data, such as .step or . iges, among others. It is fairly clean, so it's ready for whatever work you intend. I have added a cut to demonstrate...

"Feature recognition" won't work on organic shapes such as this, as there are no recognizable features, and barely works on geometric shapes, unless they are of the simplest form, so that function isn't going to be of any help for this model.

But rest assured, it is definitely a solidworks "part".

unfortunately solidworks feature recognition does not always recognize complex features. Any unrecognized features in an imported part show up as such in the new part. You can sometimes have success in eliminating that by going through feature recognition manually. It is time consuming and not always successful. The more complex the shape features the less likely of success has been my experience.
