How to convert a surface in .stl to solid in SW2014?

Question by Mayara Gualberto

I need to import a model (surface) in stl to Solidworks. I used other program (MeshLab) to reduce the number of face, with this I could open this model.
But, I don't know how to transfer this file imported to solid, who tool I can use to do this?

Solidworks woun't help you much in this regard.
In SW, You can either Import the stl model as Surface (if the model is not too complicated) and then try to stitch the Surface manually.

Best idea would be using a Freeware meshing Software e.g. meshlab in order to convert the .stl into a suitable solid Format.
