Nesting software

I’m hoping someone might be able to help.
I’m looking for nesting software that will allow me to nest standard stock on to an an oversized or undersized shape.
For example, I have standard stock, say steel sheet 1m x 1m and I’m trying to nest it on to a shape that might be 900mm x 3250mm.
This is a simplistic shape and the solution would be cut the sheets down to 900mm and use the off cut at the end to make up the 250mm. However I would like to automate this process and as mentioned this is a simple shape when in fact I might have additional cut outs in the shape.
I would also like to add abit of logic to it, something like do not use off cut less than 100mm as it’s just not practical.
I’m not aware of any software that can do that and I realise that I might be asking a lot but it’s worth a shore.

A quick google search will turn up many nesting software options. The example you have given probably is not worth the effort as a brain and a bit of simple arithmetic quickly comes up with a solution.
If you were required to do this so often creating a program with python or even a spreadsheet, may be a simple solution, but the time and cost to use this has to be at less cost than using the simple manual calculation. If too many errors are happening, this solution may work out cheaper than the cost of the errors but it has to be worth the time and effort. Sometimes the boring old manual method is the cheapest solution. Elegant technical solutions are not always the best practical way of achieving the desired outcome, sometimes simple is better.
Did you try Autonest from Metalix?.
I think that is good software.
