The exams are only free to those who are on a subscription or students through their school (as long as it is a SolidWorks Academic Certification Provider and on subscription).
If neither of the previous cases applies to you, you'll have to purchase the exams from here:
https://www.solidworks.com/solidworks-certification-program
As for the exams themselves, there are 3 main categories:
Associate > Professional > Expert.
There also is a sub-category which is the Advanced Professional.
The "Associate" exams are:
Mechanical Design - Mechanical Design Academic Version (For students) - Additive Manufacturing - Electrical - Simulation - Sustainability
The "Professional" exams are:
Mechanical Design - Mechanical Design Academic Version (For students) - API - Model-based Design - CAM - PDM Administrator Professional - Simulation - Flow Simulation
The "Advanced Professional" exams are:
Sheet Metal - Weldments - Mold Making - Surfacing - Drawing Tools
The "Expert" exams are:
Mechanical Design - Simulation
There also are 2 sample exams: one for CSWA-MD and one for the first segment of the CSWP-MD (You can find them on the website).
