In this tutorial I will show the basic steps to create a static stress analysis model in Solidworks. This model is from the GE jet engine bracket challenge. The goal is to find the least amount of material volume and stress based on the parameter given.

Is that an assembly? If yes, how could I do to simulate it? As far as I know, SolidWorks can only simulate parts, wright?
Ohh, got it, but I moved to Catia, so I'm trying to figure out how to handle with it. I prefer using Ansys instead. Thanks for the info!
You can simulate both assembly or a part, refer to step 3 (connectors adviser). You can decide how parts in an assembly will connect in a simulation.
Depends on what version you have, if you have the premium edition you will be able to do F.E.A. on assemblies
is this still the way to test it even with the change in rules

you showed here half of pin, thats not righte or? ;)
Remember the clevis pin is "infinitely rigid", and so the half section pin is to get a realistic loading with the bracket holes. If the pin was not infinitely rigid I would've created the model in entirely different approach. Makes sense?
