Solidworks torsion analysis of Beam | Shear stress & Twist angle Calculation

Shear stress and twist angle of a shell type box beam will be calculated using torsion analysis of a beam with solidworks simulation module. The beam has length of 1500 inch and square cross section of 150 inch. Beam is fixed at one end and subjected to torque of 300 lb-in to free end. We will do followings steps in soldiworks simulations. -Make surface model of box beam -Start solidworks structural simulations -Define new material -Assign thickness using shell definition -Assign fixed support & Torque to free end edges -Create mesh and run simulation study -Evaluate shear stress on XZ and YX plane -Evaluate total deformation -Calculate twist angle of beam using standard formula that will be shown in video

Static structural analysis of a table will be done using solidworks simulation to investigate impact of adding ribs to table on design (factor of safety). Two configurations of table will be made one without ribs and other ribs. First solidworks static structural analysis of table configuration without ribs will be simulated and maximum deformation and factor of safety will be evaluated under designed load. Then static structural analysis of table with ribs will be done to check factor of safety and deformation again. Conclusion is that table with ribs have more factor of safety and less deformation.
