Reverse Engineering: Power Fit

This video shows you how to transform a cloud mesh (based on a "STL" file) into a proper surface. It is a reverse engineering topic where you have a hull that you cannot work on. With the dedicated Digitized Shape applications, you can transform this mesh into a surface using the PowerFit feature. You will obtain a surface that is very near from the original mesh, with a maximal deviation of 0.972 mm.

[VIDEO] Design a Cargo Hull with Clay Modeling

Dear Community, This video is the 8th Edition of DESIGN Fast tutorial. The goal is to reproduce quickly (15-20min) the shape of a cargo hull, in order to reuse it for detail design/simulation/manufacturing. With CATIA Imagine & Shape you can easily shape an accurate 3Dmodel (Class-A surface). It is similar to clay modeling. The model will not be frozen, so you can always modify the shape and reuse afterwards. * Feel free to modify the shape as you want after doing the video. There are many different type of Hull in the Marine Industry ! Find the 3D Model on this GrabCad link: https://grabcad.com/library/cargo-hull-1 Please Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe :)

[VIDEO] Reverse Engineering: Surface Network

This video shows you how to transform a cloud mesh (based on a "STL" file) into a proper surface. It is a reverse engineering topic where you have a hull that you cannot work on. With the dedicated Digitized Shape applications, you can transform this mesh into a surface using the Surfaces Network feature. This method is different from the PowerFit, you create a grid on the mesh, that you fill with small patches. This procedure is less automated, so you need to join and heal the patches together.
