Very cool challenge! May I ask what the Lomography set of analogue cameras consists of?
Jonathan Brazeau almost 12 years ago
.stp model "lense" area looks different than as seen on the website.......any suggestions? Or is the .stp model shown without the "lense" and we create it?
Noah almost 12 years ago
is the camara waterproof?
Danny Tasmakis almost 12 years ago
@ Noah it just manages to be light proof let alone waterproof that's the beauty of the camera.....unpredictable.
Danny Tasmakis almost 12 years ago
@ Jonathan the lens in the .stp file is incomplete it only has parts B16, B18 & S4 parts missing for the lens are A8, B17 & S1. Pretty ironic seeing that one of the categories is a Lens accessory.

just want to share guide to take stereoscopic photography:
http://www.funsci.com/fun3_en/stscp/stscp.htm#1
does anyone have another useful similar information ?
Albertus Putra almost 12 years ago
stereoscopic photography is used to make a 3D photo, which means it would add some depths to the photo
if anyone have any source about it, please share here
Sara Sigel almost 12 years ago
The lens STL files are coming soon! Sorry for the delay.
Albertus Putra almost 12 years ago
please provide the other little parts like shutter release button and frame counter
Sara Sigel almost 12 years ago
The new specifications are available for download. Who's ready to CAD?!
Tommy Mueller almost 12 years ago
I just downloaded the new specs; the Konstuktor model is still missing the film winders (film counter, take up spool, & winding key), and the shutter release button. Also, there's an extra (duplicated) front body part to remove from the assembly.
Using Solidworks 2013
Jonathan Brazeau almost 12 years ago
@ Danny, for sure, I thought there was something missing with the lense. Probably why this challenge has so few submissions so far..... ) Maybe it's fixed, anyone know?
Andy Nicholson almost 12 years ago
looking at the entries so far, most seem to be holders for 2 cameras to try and get 3D photography. Why is this? new popular hobby? current trend?
Matthew Stonebraker almost 12 years ago
I don't think I agree, Andy. At the time of writing this, 6 of the 15 entries are the 3D holders, which is 40%. Given that there are three categories for this contest, we'd expect it to be 33% 3D camera holders (which might be a faulty assumpetion), so I think we're well within statistical norms for this sample size. I mean at one point the competition entries were 100% lens accessories.
Andy Nicholson almost 12 years ago
nope sorry I'm an idiot there. I was just skimming through the submissions and I failed to see that 1 of the criteria is to design a 3D photo holder. Apologies for my ignorance
seghier khaled almost 12 years ago
i have question ; can the company make camera like in this photo ( mirror of the original)
http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/7401/q7bq.jpg
Sara Sigel almost 12 years ago
@Seghier I'd stick to the manufactured camera as it's currently produced for your entry. I like the outside the box thinking though.
Sara Sigel almost 12 years ago
Only two days left, avoid the rush near the deadline and submit today!
Sara Sigel almost 12 years ago
Great news: Lomography is so excited by entries coming in that they extended the Challenge to Nov 30th (UTC). Now is the time to add another entry, start your first, or finish up the mega-idea you've been crafting. Let us see your accessory idea!

Andy Nicholson almost 12 years ago
Can someone please clarify something. The CAD model and associated drawings for the konstructor camera sent by lomography clearly shows 4 small screws on the front of the lense. Myself and other submitters have used these screws as a way to fix attachments to the camera. Every time I see a photo of the real camera, there are no screws on the front. Is there a stocker over these screws? Or is the model & drawings not the same as the real thing? Can this query be resolved plleas because i thought my design was good, but it won't work if there's no screw holes.
Christian Polt almost 12 years ago
Hi Andy, you are right, the screws are covered with an extra plastic ring - you can take it off, but this needs some brutality, so to enhance the convenience of you products it would be great to find a different way of mounting. Thanks for pariticpating, christian

Sara Sigel almost 12 years ago
@Ajay and @Megha The storage case acts as a grip. It's not traditional but the Lomography team loved the inventiveness. Thanks for the feedback!
Hari prasath almost 12 years ago

@Christian Polt and sara how can you choose Film Pack Rack - Lomography Challenge this entry as finelist in grip section this is not according to rules you described.
Andy Nicholson over 11 years ago
Hi, if anyone is interested, Lomography has posted an article about this challenge on their website now. It features all the finalists designs.
I am slightly confused though. The prize says top 5 designs in EACH category wins a camera set. The websitr article states the designs as 'finalists' not winners abd then asks readers to choose their favourite as a winner. The rules also states that finalists will be announced then a final winner chosen. is thete 15 prizes (5 from each category) or just 1 prize for an overall winner? Also, when will the winners be contacted? Rules state winner announced by 31st Dec, it's now 8th Jan and nothing has progressed.
Well done to those featured on Lomography website!
