Changing dimensions when adding steel member from solidworks toolbox not showing up.

Hi all, was just wondering if anyone could help please, when i drag a structural steel member from solidworks toolbox it asks if i can wish to make a derived part, i click yes but then there is no option to change sizing of steel member, this happens with bolts, nuts, washers also, any help would be appreciated thanks and kind regards Tony.

Hi Tony, you can try the below as an alternative to drag-n-drop.

Since you havent specified if this happens in an assembly or in a part, im going to assume you did this in assembly mode.

Create a new part (not assembly), when open go to the Solidworks Add-Ins tab and enable Solidworks Toolbox. A new button will appear to the right. Look for the "I-beam" icon and tap on that.

Choose your steel member and click create.

It should make a 2d sketch allowing you to edit dimensions and further to create a solid body extrude or sweep of the 2d sketch.

Hope this helps.
