How do I configure a 3D space mouse on blender

I've been using my 3D space mouse on Autodesk Inventor for months and no issues. I just started learning blender but the 3D mouse isn't just orbiting and panning well. At first it was in the reverse direction. I was able to adjust the settings from the space mouse settings to reverse directions and it worked fine. After some modelling work on blender, the space mouse problem began again. I can zoom and pan to the front and back but can't pan sideways. Please help, thanks.
