SolidWorks Vrs NX

What are the pros and cons of using SolidWorks over NX or vice versa?

Accepted answer

It really depends on what your intent with the software is. If you're just looking to model for mechanical design with little to no surfacing, then SolidWorks is the obvious choice. If you're looking for next level surfacing with an entire CAD system to work around file management and product development, NX is the better choice.

Simply put, SolidWorks is great for individuals and small businesses designing/building simple machinery. NX is a higher level "enterprise" software, focusing on a product for large scale corporations. The price tag on NX is much higher than SolidWorks as a result.
