I believe at least for the U.S. that colleges and universities are over priced and they provide little value/$. My experience in college with learning C++ was limiting and enlightening. My learning style quickly outpaced the course outlines and classroom pace. That was in 2002 and it has only gotten worse since then.
My main learning source is Youtube videos, I call it attending Youtube U. (for University).
