How to make toothbrush bristles with patterns in Keyshot

Learn how to make a toothbrush bristle with a pattern.

  1. Step 1: Create pattern

This is the pattern I created for the toothbrush. Make sure the shapes are in white.

(Having no background is better than having a black background)

  2. Step 2: Create 3D texture

Open the material graph and insert your "texture map" AKA your pattern.

Edit its dimension and move where needed.

Right click anywhere in the material graph,

    Go to Geometry---Fuzz node.

Connect your pattern to "Length Texture"

  3. Step 3: Edit Fuzz

Edit the bristles' length, radius, and density.

Execute geometry nodes to see result and edit as many times you need.

  4. Step 4: Add Direction Texture

Add a texture to change Direction texture.

You can use Noise, Marble or cellular texture. Try which fits best for your project.

I used marble with a scale of 400mm.

    Smaller scale, messier bristles.

    Larger scale, stiffer bristtles.

  5. Step 5: Add color

    Right click----textures---color gradient.

Change colors and connect to diffuse in the plastic node.

    connect plastic to Fuzz-----Surface

  6. Step 6: Final result

The small blue dots in the background are due to the black background. If the pattern has no background, then these small dots won't appear.
