How to modeling a tangerine in Solidworks

And here is my small tutorial, for this question.
-
Step 1:
You have to make some pictures of an tangerine. For example, one from the top and two from sides, but in a distance of 90°. Use the "Sketch picture"-feature to project the pictures to your standard-views.
-
Step 2:
Now we create the outlines from the topview and of the two sideviews with the simple "2d-sketches".
-
Step 3:
Use the "lofted surface"-feature to create the upperside (270°) of the tangerine.
-
Step 4:
Use the "lofted surface"-feature to create the bottomside of the tangerine, but with a distance of 180°. This will make it easier to create homogeneous batches and let it look more "organic".
-
Step 5:
Now we close the first gap, also with "lofted surface"-feature. Choose the edges from our first 270° part, with "tangency to face"-properties and choose edge from the lower part with "tangency to face"-properties to create a smooth and natural looking surface.
-
Step 6:
Ready to close the second gap, let's get it on. We use also the "lofted surface"-feature. Choose the edges from our second 270° part (the lower part), with "tangency to face"-properties and choose edge from the upper part with "tangency to face"-properties to create a smooth and natural looking surface.
-
Step 7:
Now we have a realy cool and organic looking tangerine. Next step is to combine the surfaces to one "Solid body" with......ah....."lofted surface"-feature?......nooooo with the "knit feature" ;-)
-
Step 8:
At the end of this tutorial, we create some details. Like the stem or something like this and we finished this tutorial, i hope you like it!
