Tutorial: How to model Tire in PTC Creo Parametric and show design intent


Toroidal Bend feature with PTC Creo Parametric 2.0

Step 1:
Create Extrude feature - base shape

Step 2:
Add Tire shape (add or remove material)

Step 3:
Create Pattern feature from added shape (create tread design)

Step 4:
Add some Rounds/Drafts (customize tread design)

Step 5:
Select Toroidal Bend feature

Step 6:
Select References Tab >> Solid Geometry / Define... >> Select Sketch plane and confirm Sketch

Step 7:
Create Profile Section with Coordinate system >> Confirm Ok

Step 8:
Select 360 degrees Bend from drop down menus. Choose Front and Back surfaces - system automatically will connect selected surfaces / references

Step 9:
... system automatically will connect selected surfaces / references

Step 10:
Finish Toroidal Bend feature (final geometry)

Step 11:
Finish your design for Tire (add some Revolve feature, Round, etc.)
