0:25 Simulation Start 0:56 Simplify 1:31 Materials 2:02 Constraints 2:58 DOF View 3:23 Loads 4:52 Solve In this tutorial, we will create a static simulation for our bicycle crank arm in Autodesk Fusion 360. We will simplify our assembly, to remove the fittings, then add a material, constraints and a load to the end of the arm. When we solve our assembly, we will end up with the amount of deformation. We will then run the simulation again once we core out the inside of our crank arm to see the difference in the analysis.

In this tutorial, we'll learn basic static simulation in SOLIDWORKS 2020. First of all, we'll model the cantilever beam in SOLIDWORKS and then we'll do simulation. Don't forget to add simulation add-in before making static simulation study. The simulation contains the following steps: 1) Define your Study (Static) 2) Assigning your Materials 3) Apply Boundary Conditions (Free Body Diagram) 4) Meshing the Model 5) Run the Analysis (Solve) 6) View the Results After completing the first simulation, I have added second simulation by adding force parallel to the plane, here fixture is same. You can find how deformations, stresses, strains have changed. Lastly I have one added last simulation, by changing both fixture and force, and here you will find maximum displacement on the corners (red colors) and minimum displacement on the fixed side (blue). Color contours are given where you can see the values along with different colors. It is a good exercise for beginners and it will be a good practice for beginner
