Show off your skills and solve real design problems
Luxion, creators of the KeyShot 3D rendering and animation software are teaming up with GrabCAD for...
This time we're teaming up with the GrabCAD community for a friendly competition! Yes, the GrabCAD community and the KeyShot community are going head-to-head to see which can submit the most creative, high-quality renderings possible.
The theme of this rendering competition is ENGINES. GrabCAD is filled with amazing models and many in the Engine category are among the most interesting and detailed. A rendering of any Engine model may be submitted for the contest. We'll have three winners. One for best rendering, one for best animation and one for best student rendering. The best rendering and best animation wins a seat of KeyShot Pro with Animation, the best student entry receives a KeyShot education license. All will receive the enduring admiration of the KeyShot crew and community!
Engines come in all shapes and sizes, from two-stroke lawnmower engines and outboard boat motors to massive truck and commercial airliner engines. Your goal? Create the most stunning 3D rendering or animation of an engine, any type for any type of plane, train, boat, automobile or equipment.
With your submission, it's nice to know what work went into your rendering or animation! Tell us what modeling software or other tools are used. If post editing is done, show a before and after. It's always interesting to see!
You may also choose to use another Engine model from GrabCAD: http://grabcad.com/library/most-commented?query=engine
Note: For a KeyShot trial without watermarked renderings, email license@luxion.com with "KeyShot 3D Rendering Contest (GrabCAD)" in the subject line. You will receive a 15-day license for use in the contest.
Luxion and GrabCAD retain the right to use any image or animation submitted for purposes of promotion and marketing. All rights to the image belong to the person creating the image and attribution will be given when an image is used. Additional requests for use of model or images may be requested of the user via email.
Thank you to Stefan Varga for challenge picture.

William almost 13 years ago
Can we also use Photoshop for post production work? Or is this just a 100% Keysot render!!! :P
KeyShot almost 13 years ago
Post production work is fine. You may want to provide the before and after. It's always interesting to see and hear about the process! Thanks!
William almost 13 years ago

andiesanchez almost 13 years ago
i've already got the licence and keyshot download file, but why when i render a part, there is watermark in final rendering?
Manolis Theofilos almost 13 years ago
Can we render a model engine like this:
Model Engine
Or we need a full scale model?
Pierre almost 13 years ago
we can use photoshop ? :/ but the render will be better if photoshop is use for post production. not use only keyshot ?
KeyShot almost 13 years ago
It is fine to do post production. We just ask that the before and after be shown. That said, if the model is completely rendered in KeyShot would carry some weight with the judges.
Tomas almost 13 years ago
Can I use some company logo on/in models or picture?
Tomas almost 13 years ago

Can I to do that or not? :) I don't know, use some logo in this challange, is good or not? :) If not - I quick remove logo :))

I propose a new challenge.
This time Keyshot selects the exclusive model for the challenge.
The one who makes the most amazing shot and/or animation of the model wins!
KeyShot almost 13 years ago
Love it Tris! We're definitely planning more contests in the future.
