Hole series in assembly Solidworks: Why can't I select existing hole to propogate ?

Sorry, so you are using "Hole Series" from "Assembly Features" by selecting Existing Hole in the first component? FIRST: How do you create the hole in main component, using Cut-Extrude OR Hole Wizard? Second: Existing Hole in Hole series don't work with Cut-Extrude feature, ONLY work with Hole Wizard. Please see my sample. Thanks
SOLIDWORKS assembly hole series

In solid works I need to make an array of 'pixels' each with a different height. I can make each pixel as a configuration from a design table but I can't display all of the configurations at once or is there a better way.
