This quick video tutorial may be helpful to those who are considering investing in laser scan equipment to save time on CAD modelling. Investing in a terrestrial laser scanner was one of my best business decisions. I use Solid Edge and import the laser scan point clouds into an assembly. I model the assembly parts such as tanks and platforms directly from the point cloud. The time saved on site is immeasurable and with billions of points, nothing is missed and there is no need to return to site. Learn How To Model Coffee Cup in SOLIDWORKS with Rendering in Keyshot

Happy New Year to all of you! Welcome back to CADable. This is Engineer Ibrahim Omer. In this tutorial, I will show you how to model a coffee mug in SOLIDWORKS. After modeling mug, we will export our 3d model to Keyhsot for rendering. In SOLIDWORKS, we will learn the following: 1) Basic 2D Commands 2) Extrude Boss 3) Sweep 4) Shell 5) Fillet 6) Appearance After that we will export mug in Keyshot. Here we will apply different material on the model. We will also apply different HDRI to the model with a backplate. In keyshot we will learn the following: 1) Material 2) HDRI 3) Backplate 4) Render It is a good exercise for beginners and it will be a good practice for beginners. Kindly use play pause technique for practice. I have attached files in the description for practice. Feel free to ask your queries in comment section. I will try to answer each and every question. Here's how to change existing materials to custom materials... so easy. It's important to note that all materials in KeyShot are scientifically accurate materials with properties added to be the most realistic possible. Also, if you're looking for more settings on your materials, you can select the 'Advanced' Material Type in the pulldown, located next to the material thumbnail in the Materials options.
