I don't get asked this but it is a very powerful tool and will make your life a lot easier. This also applies to other repetitive parts, not just LEGO bricks, and can be applied with the exact same methods.

How to use swept boss in Solidworks
BENJAMIN OKELLO

Here are the steps to create a swept boss in SolidWorks: 1. Start a new sketch on the plane where you want to create the swept boss. 2. Create a profile that you want to sweep along a path. The profile can be a closed or open sketch entity, such as a circle, rectangle, or spline. 3. Start another sketch on a plane perpendicular to the path of the swept boss. 4. Draw a path for the swept boss. The path can be a sketch entity, such as a line or spline, or a 3D sketch. 5. Click on the "Swept Boss/Base" command from the "Features" toolbar. 6. In the "Swept Boss/Base" property manager, select the sketch profile and path that you created in steps 2-4. 7. Choose the type of sweep you want to create: "Thin Feature," "Mid-Plane," or "Offset From Surface." 8. Specify any additional options for the swept boss, such as twist or draft angles. 9. Click "OK" to create the swept boss feature. After creating the swept boss feature, you can modify it using the feature manager design tree and change its dimensions or other parameters.

This BND TechSource video shows the steps for creating a “template” part for our Transverse Module Involute Helical Gear. This part may be modified by simply changing the parameters of any/all of the following five formulae: Fw - Face width // length parameter [Fw = input] z - number of teeth // real parameter [z = input] Tpa - Transverse Pressure Angle // angle parameter [Tpa = input] m - module // length parameter [m = input] Ca - Cylinder helix angle // angle parameter [Ca = input] Next we will look at using CATIA V5 to create the Normal Module Involute Helical Gear. Please visit us at: https://bndtechsource.wixsite.com/home Transverse Involute Helical Gear calculator (Excel): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G4DVdNp8LdKRG4hwEWZM7URW7HT71wxn/view?usp=sharing

In this tutorial, I will help you in making involute gear teeth for a spur gear using parameters and relations. I have designed the gear in Catia V5R16 using involute curve equations in "LAW" tool available in knowledge toolbar in Catia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU-f1E3sTSI

This BND TechSource video shows how to create a “template” part for an Approximate Spur Gear. The difference is; this template is controlled via an MS Excel spreadsheet. This part may be modified by simply changing the parameters of any/all of the following four formulae on the spreadsheet: z - number of teeth // real parameter [z = input] Rpa - Ref Pressure Angle // angle parameter [Rpa = input] m - module // length parameter [m = input] a – center to center distance [a = input] Next we will look at using Import Parameters (from .xls(x) or.txt file) to feed the parameter data and update the Spur Gear. https://bndtechsource.wixsite.com/home Excel Design Table: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cqqmNE9dxuM0XimnIWZSYKZfxsS0zwhj/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=114849995441101610372&rtpof=true&sd=true

This BND TechSource video shows how to create a “template” part for an Involute Spur Gear. This part may be modified by simply changing the parameters of any/all of the following three formulae: z - number of teeth // real parameter [z = input] Rpa - Ref Pressure Angle // angle parameter [Rpa = input] m - module // length parameter [m = input] And the Undercutting issue can be resolved by introducing Profile Shift which affects the Center Distance between gears as well as adjusting the Addendum and Dedendum circles. How to Copy-Paste parameters from one part to another in Pro-E?

It doesn't the parameters if there is a parameter which has a restriction. I've deselected those parameters and copy and paste the rest into the part. You will have to create the restricted parameters yourself.

CATIA V5 Document Template
Jeffrey Roark

Document Templates are very powerful tools that can ensure design standards are replicated as intended by an expert engineer. Further, they are time savers. Templates can morph on instantiation based on inputs and context of the new product design. In terms of Product Lifecycle management, Product Templates can be instantiated as New Components. Product Templates can represent a single component or an assembly of components. In addition, multi discipline models such as NC Toolpaths, Drawings, FEA Analysis models can be associated and up along with the morphed result of an instantiated templates. Product Templates are extremely powerful tools! Contact me for more information: jroark31@yahoo.com https://youtu.be/7iIFU1sC_FY

This BND TechSource video shows how to create a “template” part for an Approximate Spur Gear. The difference is; this template is based upon a one time feed of data via an .xls(x) or .txt file and must be re-imported for every modification. This part may be modified changing the parameters of any/all of the following three formulae on the .xls(x) or .txt file: z - number of teeth // real parameter [z = input] Rpa - Ref Pressure Angle // angle parameter [Rpa = input] m - module // length parameter [m = input] Next we will look at using CATIA Macro + Import Parameters (from .xls(x) or.txt file) to feed the parameter data and update the Spur Gear. https://bndtechsource.wixsite.com/home .xlsx file: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cqqmNE9dxuM0XimnIWZSYKZfxsS0zwhj/edit?usp= .txt file - [m_3-Rpa_20-z_40]: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t42oaimtwS7LBc7eos5YS9bWjcmjcfeq/view?usp=sharing .txt file - [m_3-Rpa_20-z_25]: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1csdQHt3jfLTE04kCkv03itM05oj0OYQc/view?usp=sharing

How do you use True/False User Parameters in the iPart Author table?

To answer to your question... In the iPart Author dialogue on the "Suppression" tab you will find what you ask for. Click on it and it will appear on your table below the name of the feature as suppressed or not, depends on the statement that is active... (if that is not the case use the middle arrows by selecting the appropriate feature to transfer it on the right block as shown in the picture...) Check Pic & Model If you ask my opinion!!! ;) The one cancel the other (iLogic the ipart) so I don't really understand the usage of the iLogic here... However the results that you ask for are coming by a published iPart (No iLogic) in your Library or Even better by publishing the profile in frame generator!!!

One thing that often happens when we download parts in GRABCAD that are in different formats and want to edit certain parts in a part/assembly is the difference in size units which makes it difficult for us to do so. Here I will show how to change the unit units.
