Adidas X18+ Soccer Boot Surfacing

20 1 Intermediate
We are going to learn to model the Adidas X18+ soccer boot using surfacing techniques. These are the cleats worn in 2018 by Luis Suarez and Mohamed Salah, among others. The preferred software for this tutorial is Solidworks but any program with comparable surfacing techniques such as CATIA, Rhinoceros and Alias will work. It is an intermediate course because we are touching on advanced surfacing techniques but only develop a basic model of the shoe that can be developed much further.

How to make 3D posts of your models on Facebook

17 3 Beginner
Facebook has just updated their new feature that enables 3D viewing in posts... This feature has been around for some time, but the new update supports the industry-standard glTF 2.0 file format. This allows us to share 3D content on Facebook, whichever the designing software used was. Here I'll show you how to turn your 3D files into GLB, the only extension Facebook reads till now. By the way, GLB file format is a binary form of glTF that includes textures instead of referencing them as external images, so don't worry about the output's quality.

How to FDM Print for Part Sliding Clearance

13 3 Intermediate
If you are 3D printing parts that have to fit/slide together after printing, you will need to put some sort of clearance between those parts in your CAD system. A good starting place is a clearance 2x the layer height you are going to print at, but you should make a few smaller test prints at different clearances to see if the 2x layer height rule holds for your particular situation and orientation. Have fun and happy printing!
