Crankcase
Step 1
open a sketch under the body and draw this sketch.( you can use convert entities command for circles)
Step 2
extrude the sketch 10 mm
Step 3
go to front plane and draw this profile
Step 4
mirror all bodies with using right plane
Step 5
extrude the profile at each directions. after, use body-move-copy comman to translate body 15 mm on Z coordinate.
Step 6
open a sketch under the body and draw this sketch
Step 7
extrude it up to top plane
Step 8
open a sketch on the right plane. use convert entities command.
Step 9
extrude the last sketch in two directions. direction 1 is up to body and direction 2up to purple surface
Step 10
crop the body
Step 11
go to under of the body and draw this sketch
Step 12
use linear pattern command (95 mm gab) then extrude the sketch up to pink surface
Step 13
make same things for other side
Step 14
crop this parts
Step 15
open a sketch front side and draw a 30mm radiused circle. then use cut extrude command
Step 16
open a sketch on the cylinders. draw circles like this
Step 17
use cut extrude command. enter volues
Step 18
please follow next tutorial
Measurements for step 3
Thanks! That was close to what I had, close enough that what I had was fine.
Can you post another image showing angular dimension/ distance of the 9.14mm segment and 18.28mm segment? as well as the 5mm segment and 14.14mm segment. I would really appreaciate it. I'm stucked in this step
Victor,
It took me a few to figure it out also, but what hes doing is extrude/cutting the extra material out of the piston holes at a depth of 160mm from the top of the piston surface.
So pick the "top" of the piston surface and create your sketch there, then look at my picture that Ive attached for a more comprehensive understanding.
Draw all 12 holes like the ones you see in my screenshot and then extrude/cut them to a depth of 160mm from the top of the pistons. Hope this helps you out!!
Why 160 mm? 130 mm is the cylinder height, and 57 mm de piston height. Could you explain me how did u come by that conclusion please?

I don't know how far these cylinders should be apart from eachother. Also I dont know if the method I used is correct. mirror the original body and use move/copy command. Need your help buddies. thank you"here is a picture of the dimension you required:
here you go, use this as an example to follow what i did.

What version of solidworks you are using I downloaded this file and didn't opens on solidworks 2011
don't understand step 1 and 6, if you put some dimensions you are the best...
Hey. Can you make a more detailed tutorial about part 12 of the V12 engine tutorials? I cant complete 12 without the dimensions of steps 1,3,7 etc. I tried my own dimensions, but then step 9 did not work!
What are the dimensions for the extrusion in Step 3? And what are the width of the ribs in Step 6?
Thanks for the help. I was able to make the desired output by making another plane coincident with the original body and move it using move/copy command.
hello I would like to ask @ what angle I incline the 2 block and how much distance separate them form each others
do you mean the distance between the two blocks when you mirror and then move them? if so the gap is 15mm
what about the angel of inclinations of the block and thank for ur help in the last comment
Brylle,
From what I noticed by looking at your added picture you went to far when drawing your rectangle, ill highlight the area Im talking about in the same picture you posted! I've drawn an orange line where you should have stopped!! Hope it helps!!
The arrow pointing in the direction of the extrusion looks funky also but that just may be the perspective im getting from the screenshot.
I'm having trouble with step 9. I go to extrude and I'm getting an error "unable to create this feature because it would result in zero-thickness geometry". I think it's something to do with direction 2 because I can get it to extrude to the body just fine but it wont extrude to the surface. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thank you Aykut that worked. But now should I combine the sections that I just created?
Hello could someone please help me for part 14, i cant get the sketch right. its the crank connection part after making the cylinder.
Thank you :)
What is the dimensions in the first Picture ??, i am using inventor, and need the diamensions of the rectangle ?
I basically guessed the measurement and made them what i thought it would be likely to be. :)
